What is Hypnosis?
According to a definition by Britannica, hypnosis is a psychological condition by which a person enters a State of being resembling sleep in appearance, while maintaining a level of awareness different from ordinary consciousness. Who can be hypnotized?
The short of it is that not everyone is equally susceptible to hypnosis. More specifically, for a person to be hypnotized they must be a willing and cooperative participant. Being skeptical or not fully trusting the hypnotist can cause the whole process to fail due to a conscious or subconscious resistance to the suggestions, I.e if you don’t Believe that is possible to be hypnotized it may have no effect on you. How does hypnosis work?

The more and more a person becomes relaxed the more tired they become and once physical signs of fatigue are visible, the hypnotist will suggest that the subjects close their eyes and eventually fall asleep when commanded. These signals, coupled with suggestions start off simple then, become increasingly demanding as the session goes on. One way to combat this it’s to be aware of its existence, and the possibility that your favorite tv personality or social media star may be influencing your behavior.
